Tamiya Spare Parts
Maintain, Upgrade & Hop Up
It's one thing owning and running the coolest RC Cars in the world, but eventually you will need to replace parts due to normal wear and tear, or a crash of some kind. Let's face it, RC Car crashes happen to the best of us, and here at MIBI we have solutions for all eventualities. We will get your RC Car back up and running as fast as possible.Stock Tamiya RC Car replacement parts can be ordered direct from our dedicated Spares Section, and usually all you need is the parts number taken from the Tamiya RC Car dedicated product Manual. Many Tamiya RC Car spares are held in stock, however due to the sheer volume of spares across our whole range, we may at times need to order direct from Tamiya, especially when a particular spare is in high demand.
Stronger, Better, Faster
But there are other options too. Most manufacturers also make Option Parts or Upgrades. These Upgrades offer either a Performance Enhancement, Increased Durability or simply an Enhanced Aesthetic. Replacing plastic components for Alloy versions increases Durability and reduces Flex. Adding Bearings to replace Bushes reduces Friction. Most Upgrades are a much higher price than their stock replacement Parts, but in terms of Performance, Looks or Durability, well worth the premium.Lastly there are Hop Ups. Just like Upgrades they enhance Durability, Looks or Performance. Hop Ups tend to be made by Third Party Manufacturers, who specialise in producing a wide range of Hop Ups across a specific genre of RC, and multiple brands. Hop Ups may often not look as refined or be branded like manufacturer Upgrades, but they often offer a more Cost Effective and Robust solution to the part, or parts they replace.
RC Car Maintenance
It's one thing to buy and run your RC Car, but don't neglect it, or regular, routine maintenance. Put together a basic tool kit that includes a stiff brush to clean off dirt and debris after a run, Blue Thread Lock, a set of quality Hex Drivers, a Box Wrench, Side Cutters, Needle Nosed and Flat Ended Pliers, Flat Blade and Cross Headed Screwdrivers, Thin and (if Possible) flexible Cyano (or Super Glue) for re gluing tyres, Diff Grease, Shock Oil, Bearing Oil and a Water Displacing Spray (Such as WD40 or GT85).These are the basics needed to keep a vehicle well maintained, clean and ready for it's next run. If you run Nitro then after run oil is a good investment, especially if you intend not to run the engine again soon, and a Hauler Case or Bag is also a good investment making transporting your car and tools around a much easier proposition. Always check your car over before and after a run, as nuts and bolts can (and often do) work their way loose. The better you look after the car, the better it will perform and last for you.
Here at MIBI there's something for everyone, whatever your level of expertise, age or interest. If in doubt, ask, and we will always endeavour to find you something exciting that meets your needs perfectly! We all start somewhere and all need help at times.
